Will of Jonathan Ireland
In the name of god amen. The 16th day of January 1824. I Jonathan Ireland in the parish of Middleton and County of Durham being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto god for it do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty god that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors. I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath to my Nephew William Allison one shilling. I give and bequeath to my Nephew Matthew Horn one shilling. I give and bequeath to my Brother Thomas Ireland all the stock money belonging tp me. I give and bequeath to my Son Joseph Tarn whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my Sole Executor of this my last will and testament of all my houses and lands situated at Middleside parish of Middleton and County of Durham and two pasture gates of Middleton in pasture and four of the out pasture and to pay the above same two shillings and this to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned.
